Yeah - I'm going to the May 28th show. Can't wait, I haven't seen the band since 2010.

Well, my week in Vegas just flew by. My wife and I had a blast, the hotel was great, the food was amazing. I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which is a bit off the strip and I loved that we took the bus around the city. My favourite restaurant was FU. Flavourful Asian cuisine and all we had was peppered steak and rice! The only record store I could find was Zia Records and I found a few gems at a very good price, in honour of my stay I purchased Sixx: A.M's entire discography and I'm looking forward to delving into them. Now, onto the GN'R show - we got to the concert at 8:00 PM knowing that it was going to be a long night. It seems that not everyone knew about the boys start a bit later than usual so there were a few screamers regarding that, which is a little annoying. Opening band, Delta Rose came out at 9:00 and put on a solid show. Nothing groundbreaking, they have a Classic Rock sound with a heavy influence of the Blues. They are still super young, so it will be interesting to see how they mature. GN'R came out at around 10:30 and played until 2:00 AM. As usual the band is in top form - really all of the band members are either recording or on tour with another band, so they have no reason to not be "on". What I took away from the show was how powerful Axl's voice is. Sure, he doesn't run around like a wild man anymore, but his voice stays in prime condition and he can really howl on "Welcome To The Jungle" and sound just as scathing as a 20 year old on "You Could Be Mine". My favourite moment was when they played "Estranged" - never heard it live and it was great to hear. The band caught all the emotions of the song and just rocked it hard. Again, Axl's voice was amazing! My only complaint is that I wished for more GN'R songs and cut out all the cover songs. After seeing this show, I'm even more excited for the "Appetite For Democracy" DVD. Setlist: Chinese Democracy Welcome to the Jungle It's So Easy Mr. Brownstone Estranged Better Rocket Queen Richard Fortus Guitar Solo Live and Let Die (Wings cover) This I Love Holidays in the Sun (Sex Pistols cover) (Tommy Stinson on lead vocals) Dizzy Reed Piano Solo Catcher in the Rye You Could Be Mine DJ Ashba Guitar Solo Sweet Child O' Mine Instrumental ("Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You" by Led Zeppelin) November Rain Abnormal (Bumblefoot on lead vocals) Don't Cry Riff Raff (AC/DC cover) Civil War Knockin' on Heaven's Door (Bob Dylan cover) Jam Nightrain Encore: Patience The Seeker (The Who cover) Paradise City

That sounds like your week was fantastic! I haven't stayed at the Hard Rock there but have been there a couple times. Fun place. I'd have to agree about all the covers. It does seem like quite a few. I saw that Duff was there one night for their show.
Glad that you and your wife had a great experience.
