I pre-ordered the Rockstar Supernova CD and it arrived today! After much anticipation, the CD was well worth the wait. However, I couldn't hear enough of Gilby to quite suit my taste !

That's awesome sixgnr! Enjoy it I've already listened it 2 times. I love Underdog. and Valentine too. The last one it should be sung by Gilby... maybe live... in Italy! Good job! I love it

I've seen in the booklet the Special Thanks to Slash. Anyone does know why?

Not sure! Maybe he helped out with some of the licks, but I haven't heard anything offical.

It's a good record, 3/5.
Instrumentally, it's very very good. I'm sad that Gilby didn't solo more. However, he does throw out some big catchy arena rock riffs ala Cheap Trick.
Tommy drums very powerfully as usual. Jason is cool.
Lukas is average to good. Wrong choice IMO.

To me its just like....i don't like how layered/effects or whatever Lukas' vocals are, but i guess its just because i got used to his raw live voice on the show.
Some pretty damn catchy tracks, but kinda disappointed by the lack of solos

I've seen in the booklet the Special Thanks to Slash. Anyone does know why? Answer from Gilby - Slash worked on one of the demo songs with Tommy Thanks again Gilby!

I've just received it in the post. First thoughts are its pretty good. Not as enjoyable as Gilby's solo releases but still pretty good. I really like The Dead Parade,Make No Mistake and Can't Bring Myself To Light This fuse. I think overall it has brought Gilby some great publicity but hopefully that will just make more demand for his solo stuff. I can understand the criticism levelled at Lukas but to be fair I don't think anyone who got through to ther final could have made this album any better than it is. It's just a bit humdrum in places. It kinda plods along as well and before you know it the albums over. So in summary I say 7/10. Good but not great.
